Bar Bites – Ahi Tuna Ceviche

One of the things that we love to do is go out for a great dinner!  The interesting thing about that, though, is that we always sit at the bar of a restaurant, order a cocktail or glass of wine, and share some appetizers.  One of the best things in life, in my humble opinion, is sharing some interesting bites of a few small plates and exploring unique food and wine pairings. Food can represent so many things; experience, nourishment, art, adventure, emotion, or nostalgia!

Well, on one of our usual stops, we perched at the corner of Villa Creek’s bar, one of our all-time favorite spots in downtown Paso Robles, to do what we do best; eat and drink.  To sum it up, this place has all the makings of the perfect gathering joint.  Great bar scene, incredible food, interesting wine list, and always a great crowd! Their bar menu includes all kinds of good things, with an Spanish tapas inspired theme.

I’m always on the lookout for something delicious that’s healthy (or at least appears that way) and has a lot of interesting flavors.  So, what did I choose???

Ahi Tuna Ceviche

This was the perfect balance of flavors and textures in my book; the fresh ginger adds a pleasant kick, while the marinade smooths things out a bit.  The mandarin supremes add a fresh sweetness and who doesn’t love avocado??? I asked for light dressing, so I happened to get a little bonus bowl of that yuzu ginger marinade on the side!  Too bad I couldn’t put it in my purse for later.

Ahi Tuna Ceviche with Extra Yuzu Ginger Marinade!

So, if you’re like me…love to cook, but also LOVE to get our and explore new flavors, try Villa Creek’s Ahi Tuna Ceviche.  Go grab your favorite person and enjoy a leisurely evening of indulgence.  You deserve it!

Cheers!!!

The mas de Maha is on avial by the taste others by the bottle... cheers to great food and wine.

Hey Kevin, we've definitely developed some good addictions to Villa Creek! Mostly feels like we're hanging out in our own living room when we're there! Great stuff for sure!!! We'll have to come sample that Mas de Maha sometime soon! Cheers to you!!!
